Senior Laboratory Scientist

Zinto’s clients include regulators, large corporates, breed organizations, not-for-profits, conservation bodies, research institutions, and municipalities across Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia.
We are looking for a hard-working, diligent, and enthusiastic Senior Laboratory Scientist to work at our laboratory in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee DNA/RNA extraction and PCR workflows, ensuring high-quality and reproducible results.
* Interpret PCR data and assist in troubleshooting and resolving experimental issues.
* Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams in the validation and development of new and advanced techniques and products/services.
* Maintain sample prep and stock inventory.
* Coordinate and review laboratory risk assessments.
* Manage laboratory and equipment cleaning and maintenance schedule. Ensure all laboratory documentation is kept up to date.
* Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality control and consistency of laboratory analyses and outputs.
* Maintain technical knowledge and qualifications of laboratory staff.
* Perform administrative duties including routine office work and generation of daily/monthly/weekly reports.
Required Experience and Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, with a strong focus on PCR/qPCR.
* A 3rd level qualification (BSc or higher) in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
* Strong understanding of nucleic acid chemistry and PCR assay development.
Desirable Requirements of this Role
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint).
* Experience in mentoring laboratory staff is desirable.
* Knowledge or interest in the animal and/or environmental industries.
