TAX ANALYST (AFRICA)
SpaceX is seeking to add a Tax Analyst as it expands its Starlink business across Africa and other regions around the world. You will be part of the international tax team located in Dublin, Ireland and will assist with local country tax matters for the Africa region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist the team in ensuring that Starlink’s operations in the Africa region, as well as any new countries in Africa, are compliant with local tax requirements, including income tax, withholding tax, excise tax, VAT, and e-invoicing requirements
* Assist the team with technical tax analysis regarding the tax implications of existing and new markets across Africa
* Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams (operations, commercial, legal, customs, treasury, accounting, finance) and other stakeholders to build a strong network across these departments and with external resources to ensure compliance with local legislation
* Assist the team in overseeing all tax payments for the Africa region, including monitoring payment dates, calculating correct payment amounts, and ensuring payments are properly recorded in the books
* Assist with notices/audits received from various taxing authorities
* Assist with preparation of tax provision in local financial statements
* Assist with US tax team on US tax implications of Starlink operations in the Africa region
* Provide support as needed on ad hoc projects
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or tax
* 2+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting, law firm and/or a multinational company with operations in Africa
* Experience dealing with Africa indirect and/or direct tax
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Prior Big 4 experience in Africa region or desk
* Prior experience dealing with e-invoicing environment
* Data analytics skills, knowledge of Onesource, Alteryx, SQL
* Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in work processes
* Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* This position is based in Dublin, Ireland and requires being onsite - remote or hybrid work not considered
