We are currently seeking a Part-time Healthcare Assistant for a Residential Care Home in Ennis, County Clare
This role offers flexible shift patterns including day and night shifts, with a requirement for Level 5 QQI qualification.
***Minimum commitment of 4 hours per week***
Job Responsibilities:
* Assist residents with their personal care needs, such as bathing, hair care, dressing and undressing.
* Provide support to those who require assistance at mealtimes.
* E nsure dietary requirements are met, including special diets and supplementary drinks, under the guidance of nursing staff. Report any instances where a client is not eating or drinking.
* Mobilize clients, including assisting nursing staff to turn and reposition using appropriate aids, and help those who need assistance with walking and limb exercises as directed. Ensure clients are comfortable in bed or chairs.
* Accompany clients within and occasionally outside the residence.
* Report to nursing staff any complaints of pain or distress from clients.
* Clean and restock linen presses and wardrobes, and ensure personal clothing is stored in the correct locker or wardrobe. Use correct laundry bags, tie and label them, and transport to laundry.
* Care for incontinent clients, promoting continence awareness among clients confined to bed with toilet needs.
* Manage toileting for clients, including emptying commodes and using washer-disinfectors.
* Dispose of waste, including clinical waste.
* Make a positive impact on the elderly and vulnerable by providing care in the community.
* Support individuals with daily activities.
* Safeguard those we care for.
* Promote social interactions and activities.
* Prevent loneliness and isolation in the community.
Requirements:
* Level 5 QQI in Care Assistant qualification.
* A proactive attitude.
* Experience in a similar role.
* A good working knowledge of English.
* Familiarity with safe working practices.
* Knowledge of equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
* Garda vetting is required.
