Job Summary
A 12-month hybrid contract is available for a Linux System Administrator in Cork. The role involves working with a world-leading company to maintain and improve their Linux-based infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.
* Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs.
* Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
* Collaborate with software developers and system analysts to troubleshoot and resolve software compatibility issues on Linux platforms.
* Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and scalability.
Requirements
* Knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.
* Some knowledge of Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
* Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
* Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
