We are seeking an ambitious and driven Project Engineer with the desire to learn and build a career, aspiring to a Project Management role in the future.
As a Project Engineer at DPI, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all technical and engineering aspects of assigned installation projects.
With a keen eye for detail, and the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively you will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards in line with the customer specifications, compliance to regulations and group standards.
This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssisting the PM/PD with overall site management of the site / specialised installation teams to ensure completion within agreed time scales that exceed statutory regulations and standards of the country in which they are working.
To ensure that customer and business requirements are understood and delivered as required, proactively manage the work to the highest standard and deliver 100% quality.
Ensure site rules are observed by all who are working for or on behalf of DPI Staff such as Subcontractors and any other 3rd party suppliers of products, goods, logistics and services.
Proactively liaise with the Project manager on the specific requirements of the customer project.
To ensure completion of all installations is within or to an improved budget whilst providing records for any potential day-works or prolongation issues needing commercial attention.
Carry out surveys, estimation and quotation activities supporting the project manager, business, and customer promptly within the approved authority.
To ensure that the safe systems of work are always employed on site to achieve "zero" accidents, or near misses.
To mark up drawings and inform the relevant and appropriate people of the intended modifications, work to issue drawings and ensure that these are transmitted and approved before any changes are made.
Carry out drawing take-offs & obtain quotations for material ordering.
Manage and control all aspects of material ordering and distribution of products within the role's authority.
Liaise, direct and organise operatives daily.
Check all paperwork, documentation, certifications, production of timesheets and review invoices.
Ensure completion of all weekly submittable Health & Safety documentation and requirements.
Ensure all Health & Safety is cascaded to all operatives (Inc Temp Resource / Sub Co) and the levels required are supervised ensuring adherence to but not limited – Toolbox Talks, Risk Assessments, Method Statements etc.
Carry out and maintain a record for snagging activities to supervise and manage the quality of workmanship being precise and report back to the Project manager regularly.
Ensure all deadlines and work are completed on time.
Ensure compliance to working to the Project documentation file for Safety and Quality standards.
To produce & update RAMS as and when required, ensuring that applicable RAMs are followed and all safe working requirements are met daily.
Reporting on all Health & Safety returns and deliverables for each separate project.
To produce relevant task-specific and deliver Toolbox Talks/briefings & attend site meetings as and when required.
Maintain project documentation including producing daily diaries of events, capturing work completed and progress reports, and updating daily installation trackers and project planners ensuring information is up to date.
To always deliver professional service and customer satisfaction.
To ensure compliance with Company Health and Safety and Environment Policy.
Support the wider project teams as and when required.
Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company, and group policies and procedures.
Essential skills and knowledgeSMSTS/Safe Pass qualification with a minimum of 2 years experience in the construction sector.
Qualified electrical/mechanical installer/engineer.
Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, written and verbally.
Programming works for Project management review.
Ability to motivate a team, make sound decisions and demonstrate strong leadership.
Strong project management and supervision skills.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Competent in IT and systems including Word, Excel, and PDF overwriting.
First Aid trained.
