Job Title: Technical Building Services Manager, Dublin, PermanentReference: 417Summary of the Technical Building Services Manager role:Our client is seeking a Technical Building Services Manager (Maintenance & Projects) to oversee the maintenance, operation, and project delivery of all M&E systems. This role ensures the efficient running of all M&E systems, as well as managing planned and reactive maintenance, and overseeing building projects. The Technical Building Services Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to uphold high standards of safety, compliance, and sustainability.Technical Building Services Manager Deliverables / Outcomes (include but are not limited to):Maintenance Management:Oversee planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance for all building services, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operations.Manage and lead the maintenance team, providing technical support, training, and performance management.Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety policies, and environmental requirements.Develop and implement maintenance strategies, optimising efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Manage service contracts, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost control.Project Management:Lead and manage building services projects, including refurbishments, system upgrades, and new installations.Prepare project budgets, schedules, and resource plans, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project goals are met.Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant construction and safety regulations.Provide technical expertise and recommendations for building system improvements.Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure all building services meet regulatory and legal compliance, including fire safety; Heating, Ventilation, and Airconditioning (HVAC); electrical systems; and water hygiene.Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks.Maintain up-to-date records of maintenance activities, project progress, and compliance documentation.Develop and implement emergency response plans related to technical building systems.Budget & Cost Control:Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance and projects, ensuring cost efficiency and financial control.Identify cost-saving opportunities through energy efficiency, supplier negotiations, and process improvements.Review and approve contractor invoices, ensuring value for money and service quality.Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical staff and maintenance personnel.Collaborate with senior management, facilities teams, and external stakeholders to align objectives.Provide technical advice and reports to senior management on maintenance and project activities.Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments for seamless building operations.Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed:Degree or HND/HNC in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in technical building maintenance and project management.Professional certifications (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, CIBSE, or equivalent) are advantageous.Experience in managing large-scale maintenance operations and building services projects.Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems and building services management.Project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Familiarity with health & safety regulations, building codes, and compliance requirements.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under pressure.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in using CAFM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Location: Dublin / Hybrid WorkingDuration: PermanentSalary: EUR 80,000 per annum (depending on experience)Application Deadline: Open until filled – early application is encouraged as we review applications throughout the advertising period and reserve the right to close the advert early, subject to the volume of applications received.Seniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Engineering, Management, and Project ManagementIndustries: Construction, Engineering Services, and Facilities Services
