About this role:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and committed Junior Network Engineer to join our IT Operations team. The successful candidate will play an important role in designing, building out and maintaining our network infrastructure across multiple worldwide sites as well as our datacentre and cloud environments. As the world’s largest top-up provider, we have connectivity to hundreds of mobile operators, with hundreds of VPNs and we take networking very seriously. Ding’s systems support more than 100,000+ monetary transactions per day and therefore must meet the highest standards for availability and security. An effective candidate will combine strong skills in technology, customer service and innovation to provide value to our business and our customers.
What we need you to do:
You will assist our team to:
Manage and maintain complex network architectures, ensuring high availability, security and performance.
Manage and optimize Palo Alto Firewalls for network security, traffic monitoring and threat prevention.
Manage and optimize Cisco Meraki devices; including switches, routers and access points, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
Administer and configure cloud networking on AWS, Azure, and GCP, including VPNs, VPCs and network security groups.
Manage and optimize the production WAF/CDN infrastructure
Work with infrastructure as code using Terraform for network provisioning and configuration management.
Automate routine network tasks using PowerShell and manage DevOps pipelines to enhance network deployment processes.
Continuously monitor the availability of the network to ensure uptime and fast incident response.
Manage and integrate site to site IPSEC VPNs with several global partners.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues across multiple environments, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure seamless integration and management of the network infrastructure.
Stay up to date with emerging network technologies and best practices, continuously recommending improvements and innovations.
Document network configurations, processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
Participate in an on-call roster to support the business out of normal working hours.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering or related field.
Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role with a focus on enterprise-level networking.
Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals (ex. TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting, BGP, IPSEC VPNs).
Hands-on experience with Certificate management.
Hands-on experience with DNS management.
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and security policy management.
Hands-on experience with enterprise level Cisco networking hardware.
Hands-on experience with cloud WAF/CDN networks such as Cloudflare.
Hands-on experience with cloud networking solutions in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Experience working with DevOps practices and infrastructure automation using Terraform and PowerShell.
Experience with network monitoring tools (ex. SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, Datadog)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a multi-platform, multi-cloud environment.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Cisco CCNP, or AWS/Azure/GCP Certifications.
Experience with SASE tools such as Prisma Access
Experience with Cisco Meraki networking hardware and cloud-based management platforms
