Position Title: Catering Assistant
Location: Client Site
Reporting to: Chef Manager
Overall Purpose of the Job
To oversee the preparation of meals, vegetables, soups and other hot food products efficiently. Assist with tasks such as preparing and portioning food products prior to cooking, and perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including serving and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate items for all hot & cold menu item plates.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the Canteen's recipes, portioning and serving standards.
* Fulfill additional responsibilities as needed to ensure customer service standards and efficient operations.
* Maintain equipment cleanliness and excellent working condition through regular inspection and adherence to preventative maintenance programs.
* Ensure compliance with HACCP regulations.
* Establish and maintain proper cleaning schedules for floors, mats, walls, equipment, and food storage areas.
* Verify and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
* Upkeep a professional appearance at all times, adhering to company standards and uniform policy.
* Nurture positive relationships with fellow workers and customers, avoiding conflict.
* Attend required training sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
* A minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar capacity is required.
* Effective communication skills are necessary for interacting with managers, kitchen staff.
* Demonstrate teamwork, time management, and organizational skills.
* Show motivation, enthusiasm, and reliability.
* Be capable of frequent lifting, reaching, bending, and standing for extended periods within the kitchen environment.
