Job Overview
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and management of complex structural engineering projects. You will lead a team of junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of structural solutions for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects.
* Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations for steel, concrete, and other materials.
* Manage and mentor a team of junior engineers, providing guidance and oversight throughout the design process.
* Collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure effective project delivery.
* Ensure that all structural designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
* Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
* Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure that construction work aligns with the design.
* Provide technical leadership in resolving engineering issues that may arise during project execution.
* Oversee the preparation of design documentation and ensure its accuracy and quality.
* Contribute to business development efforts by supporting proposals, client meetings, and project planning.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on large-scale projects.
* Chartered Engineer status (or close to achieving it) is preferred.
* Strong proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.
* In-depth knowledge of European building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
* Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior engineers.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients.
* Problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and find creative solutions to engineering challenges.
