Project Manager Security - (Physical Security) Facilities
(this is not an IT role)
The Role:
The Facilities area is responsible for obtaining and maintaining business headquarters and regional offices, including activities such as security, property management, capital projects, building management, and fleet management. It is an area that is subject to significant change and expansion, supporting a large capital investment program over the next number of years.
The Security team is responsible for the physical security of commercial (offices, depots, laboratories, etc.) and operational sites (treatment plants, reservoirs, etc.), including manned guarding, security management, security system installation, maintenance, and repair.
Reporting to the National Security Manager, the Security Projects Manager is a key member of the Security team and is responsible for overseeing the delivery of key security upgrade programs including fencing, security doors, and security systems (e.g., access control, CCTV, intruder detection, automatic gates, and electrical shutter doors). The purpose of this role is to deliver a highly effective Project Management Service from conception through to completion, providing an efficient service and ensuring that key relationships both internally and externally are maximized.
It is also a requirement to work closely with the programme teams to deliver the security elements of strategically important projects such as transformation projects, laboratories, offices, stores, and depots.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering multiple projects from conception through to completion.
* Relevant third-level qualification in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
* Desirable to be a certified practitioner in one of the recognised PM methodologies, either Prince2 or PMP.
* Experience delivering civil works/security system installations desirable.
* Proven experience in delivering projects and system upgrades across multiple sites.
* Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others.
* Ability to manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organising, and prioritising with attention to detail.
* Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas, and implementing solutions.
* Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
* Excellent analytical skills to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements and propose and implement solutions.
* Ability to set high standards of performance and deliver desired results.
* Flexible with regards to working in a changing environment and the ability to adjust to new work structures, processes, and requirements as necessary.
* Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job.
* The role requires flexibility to work and travel across the country as required, addressing the needs of this national role.
* Full clean Irish Driver’s License.
