Our client is one of Ireland’s leading renewable energy solution providers. For over twenty years, they have promoted green energy solutions and supported customers in moving from fossil fuels to renewable energy. They provide biomass and solar renewable energy technologies and solutions. They are looking for a Contracts Manager to join their solar PV team. This provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager who wants to progress their career and would like to make a difference in the energy transition. Reporting to the Managing Director and a member of the leadership team, the Contracts Manager has the overall responsibility for Solar PV Projects, including costing and installation. They will provide assurance that projects are costed accurately and then delivered on time and to budget whilst ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety requirements. This role would suit someone from an electrical or mechanical background in construction. Previous experience in Solar PV projects is not essential as training will be given. The role will require some time in the Tipperary office as well as on site and working from home as well.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the project in the preparation phase, including site team definition, documentation review and validation, procurement of all equipment, and subcontractors.
2. Manage the execution of one or several PV solar projects safely and within schedule, budget, and quality.
3. Achieve project completion on time, under budget, and with the highest quality and HSA standards.
4. Lead and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.
5. Lead and take full responsibility for all project control processes: cost controls, contract management, and scheduling.
6. Lead the project team members both within the organisation and contractors.
7. Effectively communicate with all project stakeholders, provide project progress and possible alternative plans to recuperate possible project deviations.
8. Directly interface with the client at the project level on key contracts
9. Identify the sources of likely problems and proactively take preventive measures to avoid any potential project risks and determine response actions to mitigate any negative impact (always have a plan B).
10. Deliver projects in line with project contractual obligations.
11. Project reporting (internal and external).
12. Establish cost reports and KPIs for control of the project.
Candidate Requirements
13. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related)
14. Minimum 5 years project management experience with medium to large-size electrical/mechanical projects (preferably in the energy sector)
15. Qualification in Project Management or PMP is a plus.
16. Experience in Contract, Risk, and Procurement Management
17. Deep knowledge of project controls (cost controls, contract management, and scheduling)
18. Working knowledge of planning software
19. HSE & Quality Management - Compliance with policies and procedures.
