As a Calibration Technician working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the biologics sector. This job is based in a cutting-edge facility in Sligo.
We are seeking a Calibration Technician to join our team at LotusWorks. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of a wide range of instruments, including temperature, pressure, flow, humidity, level, balance, pH and conductivity analysers, dimensional and measurement equipment, and various other instrumentation.
Responsibilities
1. Perform scheduled calibrations according to client and LotusWorks procedures for facilities and process calibration.
2. Respond to and assist production in the event of faulty or unscheduled equipment that has failed or is out of specification to ensure production requirements are met.
3. Interact professionally with client area owners and all client staff to ensure preventative and corrective maintenance activities are completed in a compliant and efficient manner.
4. Plan equipment downtime when necessary for on-line calibrations or vendor availability.
5. Follow all procedures related to overdue/quarantined equipment to ensure compliance from a calibration department perspective.
6. Adhere to calibration discrepancy procedures and follow up on calibrated items that have been escalated as discrepancies.
7. Follow decommissioning procedures and follow up on items that cannot be fixed.
8. Provide suggestions for continuous improvement in processes and calibration activities.
9. Assist in audits and investigations as required.
10. Maintain organized and controlled documentation in compliance with GAMP and FDA regulations.
11. Collaborate with team members to facilitate calibration activities.
12. Update Calibration Management software as necessary.
13. Ensure training is up to date.
14. Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required
1. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and engineering documentation.
2. Experience with Maximo would be an advantage.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Ability to work successfully within a team while also demonstrating initiative in problem-solving.
5. Proficiency in computer operating systems and applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
1. Qualified Craft Technician (Instrumentation) or a metrology qualification or appropriate 3rd level qualification.
2. City & Guilds 225 Parts 1, 2 & 3, or Level 6 or higher in Industrial Automation & Controls, Applied Physics and Instrumentation, or Metrology.
3. Safe Pass required.
