Post Summary: The Spatial Data Technician will support Estates and Facilities, including the Space Planning Team, Capital Projects, and Technical Services Teams in the development, updating, and management of the University’s spatial data which includes utilization of AutoCAD/Revit, ArcGIS, and BIM systems (please note, qualifications/experience in all of the listed software systems is not essential for this role). Trinity is working on developing a digital ecosystem of drawing information, construction information, BIM models, GIS, and space data that will assist Estates & Facilities in managing the operation of and the development of the estate. The Spatial Data Technician will be a key role, supporting the management of spatial databases and files. They will also work with the University’s Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system, Planon to ensure accuracy of space data, including space use, occupancy and assist with updating space and asset records. The Spatial Data Technician role will be required to survey existing buildings to ensure the accuracy of drawings. They will upload/connect existing drawings to the University’s CAFM system and assist in the integration of new drawings from refurbishments and new builds into the CAFM system. They will also be required to work with other team members to ensure integration with other systems such as BIM systems (including a Common Data Environment (CDE)) and ArcGIS. They will be expected to develop new skills and competencies in areas such as ArcGIS/BIM/Planon/Revit where they do not currently exist. The Spatial Data Technician will support the various teams across Estates & Facilities to develop drawings highlighting particular features, demonstrating potential layouts or configurations for use in developing building proposals or alternative space uses.

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 2 Salary Scale (€57,270 - €67,293 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
