Wicklow we export 90% of our sales to North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia, and we are looking for a Junior Purchasing Administrator to join our small Operations team. Role Description
Join our team as a Junior Purchasing Administrator and play a vital role in our Supply Chain Operation. As part of our dynamic team and reporting to the Supply Chain Operations Manager, you will be responsible for creating and managing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring seamless transactions. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for supply chain management to contribute to our organisation’s success.
Responsibilities And Duties
1. Create and release purchase orders to suppliers.
2. Obtain price quotes, negotiate terms, and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
3. Maintain and update a comprehensive database of suppliers, including contact information, product catalogues, product details, and agreed upon Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) and Price Breaks.
4. Review purchase orders and maintain accurate transaction records.
5. Track and monitor purchase orders, analysing potential conflicts between delivery and production timeframes.
6. Analyse annual purchase volumes and recommend cost-effective purchase volumes based on price breaks.
7. Process goods receipt in a timely manner, ensuring accurate quantity records and reporting any price discrepancies.
8. Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile invoices and resolve billing discrepancies.
9. Assist in evaluating vendor performance and conducting supplier performance reviews.
10. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of procurement activities with organisational goals and objectives.
Key Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential).
2. A minimum of 1 year of purchasing or procurement experience (essential).
3. Proficiency in computer skills including MS Teams, MS Word, and advanced MS Excel.
4. Excellent organization and communication skills.
5. Can-do attitude, teamwork, and customer-oriented approach.
6. Self-motivated and ability to use own initiative.
7. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
