We are seeking skilled Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to join our team in Portumna, Galway. As a Mechanical and Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our equipment and systems.
Job Description:
* Assisting the mechanical engineer with mechanical design and maintenance tasks.
* Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.
* Developing and implementing mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
* Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
* Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.
* Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
* Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
* Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
* Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.
* Analyzing and repairing electro-mechanical equipment, fixtures, and process control equipment including processors, sensors, drives, and instrumentation.
* Displaying abilities in electrical safety and troubleshooting with present or previous certification.
* Using a computer to support all appropriate work applications.
* Working additional and flexible hours (weekends) as needed, depending upon customer needs and requirements.
* Providing input and support for definable maintenance expectations and goals.
* Performing in a team environment, working well with the entire plant.
* Utilizing effective verbal and written communications skills.
* Providing safe and timely mechanical and electrical support.
* Performing preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment.
* Maintaining regulatory equipment for insurance inspection.
* Executing preventive maintenance, calibration, and work orders according to plans.
* Troubleshooting process equipment and automation issues that may arise at the manufacturing line.
* Providing inputs into PM and calibration maintenance on production machinery.
* Supporting improvement projects.
* Monitoring and coordinating with external contractors engaged in preventive/corrective action activities, calibration executions, and other related works.
* Performing and verifying cycle counts for process equipment spare parts as needed and conducting searches to locate misclassified inventory in the event of discrepancy after cycle count.
* Filling out necessary maintenance and calibration records to ensure adherence to applicable standards such as ISO 9000, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18000, ISO 22000, and KORE.
* Performing duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures.
* Performing duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices.
* Conducting maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installation to production plant, services, and equipment, testing of site safety systems.
* Assisting with the resolution of assets data issues to ensure integrity and quality of data.
* Providing progress update reports to assist management in determining the effectiveness of the assets surveys.
* Keeping excellent records of assets surveyed.
* Working from written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
* Maintaining, commissioning, parameterizing, and repairing the electromechanical and electrotechnical parts of regulating and remote management equipment (remote meter readers).
* Contributing to upgrading of installations (electrical, automated systems, and regulation).
* Identifying mechanical or electrical malfunctions in the system or sub-assemblies.
* Carrying out tests, measurements, and adjustments prior to powering-up tests.
* Overseeing maintenance operations, supervision, and technical support.
* Conducting inventory control and parts/materials research.
Qualifications:
* Operate standard shop equipment including lathe, Bridgeport, drill press, welding.
* Three years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
* Supporting other teams within the Engineering Department to meet the Engineering and site budget targets.
* Knowledge of Maintenance Management systems.
* Performing general building maintenance including overhead doors, construction repair, roll carts, floor repair, and second-level gates and doors. Performing light plumbing maintenance on occasion.
