Our client is looking to add a Project Scheduler to their team in Metro Detroit!
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Scheduler to provide scheduling and logistics support for planning, procurement, development, construction, and maintenance activities. This role ensures adherence to enterprise scheduling standards, maintains accurate project timelines, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize project performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in scheduling software, and the ability to manage multiple project schedules efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, update, and maintain project schedules in accordance with enterprise scheduling standards, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
2. Revise baseline and forecast schedules as projects progress, incorporating change management and physical percent complete updates.
3. Interface with project staff and stakeholders to collect and analyze scheduling data for accurate project tracking and reporting.
4. Establish performance measurement baselines through budget-loaded schedule activities, ensuring compliance with earned value reporting standards.
5. Analyze schedule performance, identify risks and trends, and communicate findings to the Project Manager.
6. Ensure resource requirements are incorporated into schedules at the planning stage and refined throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Monitor and report schedule variances and performance indicators.
8. Collaborate closely with the Project Cost Controller to achieve accurate cost and schedule integration.
9. Provide technical scheduling, planning, and logistics advice to project teams and senior management.
10. Develop 'what-if' schedules to evaluate project scenarios, identify critical path elements, and optimize schedule logic.
11. Represent the department in coordinating internal and external project activities, including engagement with customers, partners, and consultants.
12. Prepare and present bi-weekly and monthly schedule performance reports for senior management, supporting mitigation planning.
13. Conduct regular audits of project schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance.
14. Utilize Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for scheduling, reporting, and data management.
15. Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to confirm activity durations, dependencies, and logical sequencing of tasks.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in project scheduling, logistics, or planning in a technical, construction, or engineering environment.
2. Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and manage scheduling data.
4. Excellent communication and coordination skills to effectively collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
5. Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
