ST. MICHAEL'S HOUSE Social Care Worker QQI Trainer St. Michael's House are recruiting suitably qualified social care worker for exiting vacancies that supports adults in Local Centres with achieving module at Fetac Level 2 in QQI .
These modules are designed and delivered with person centreness at their core. The position is a part time role the equivalent of 19.5 hours per week and your work practise is designed around service user requirements.
The role requires the Social Care worker to support people with complex needs and who rely on total communication to process and understand information.
The role is peripatetic in nature and includes service users accessing a number of locations within the Local Centre compliment.
The QQI Trainer must be able to engage effectively with all stakeholders in order to ensure the person centred ethos of pathways to education.
The ideal Social Care Worker must possess: One of the below qualifications.
· Have a minimum of 3 years experience working in the area of Intellectual Disability and possess knowledge of the key work role and IP process
· Have completed the QQI training course via Evolve
· Have experience in leading out on lone working initiatives and supporting residents in a lone working capacity
· Experience working with people with Autism, and complex support needs
· Possess a strong commitment to the provision of a quality individualised service
· Experience working with Families, Clinicians, Day Service staff and building links in the community
· Have experience in the area of behaviours that challenge
· Have a good awareness of the issues facing adults with intellectual disability
· Have experience promoting educational, vocational, and recreational supports for individuals.
· Have a good working knowledge of New Directions standards regarding pathways to education, COSAN QQI Fetac L2 courses.
· Adopting a flexible and creative attitude to supporting adults achieving QQI modules
· Have experience in support plans and risk assessments and how to develop same
An understanding of the Local centres and other day service providers
· A full clean manual drivers license and willing to drive as part of the role
Essential Qualifications Required: · QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College
· Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland;
· A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award
Salary Scale Successful candidates will be paid in line with HSE revised consolidated Social Care Worker pay scale point 1; €39,951 – point 14; €56,089 per annum which is based on working a 39 hour week.
