We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for our client in Donegal.
Position Overview
The post of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a senior clinical position that reports to the Director of Nursing. The role will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, managing the day-to-day clinical practices, appropriate staff rostering, delegation and supervision, performance and development, clinical governance and assessment of risks.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Clinical Practice:
o To ensure the delivery of the highest standards of nursing which meet the individual needs of each patient by:
o Ensuring that policies and expected clinical standards are read, understood and practiced at all times.
o Reviewing nursing documentation to ensure this reflects the care and treatment required by each individual resident and that assessments and care plans are completed appropriately within agreed timeframes and reviewed as required.
o Participating in handover and helping troubleshoot any ongoing clinical issues and non-clinical issues, escalating to the Director of Nursing as appropriate.
o Supporting Charge Nurses Managers (CNMs) and providing direction, mentorship and regular communication.
o Carrying out regular Performance Appraisals and education & professional development objectives with CNMs, Staff Nurses and Care Assistants.
o Providing training, education, development and induction of nursing and care staff.
o Conducting clinical audits, reviewing residents' documentation and ensuring appropriate and timely assessments, care planning and implementation of care is documented and reviewed.
o Ensuring complaints are swiftly dealt with at the point of contact and escalated for resolution at DON level if necessary.
o Liaising with the multidisciplinary team, relatives and families.

Requirements
* Management course.
* Oncology or palliative experience preferred.
* Previous management experience.
Estimated Salary: €80,000 - €100,000 per annum.
