Role: Financial Controller The Financial Controller will blend big picture strategic and structured thinking with a hands-on approach towards their responsibility for all accounting, financial, taxation and compliance aspects of the company's business.
This involves supporting the Head of Finance in analysing financial and operational performance, advising management on these findings and proposing recommendations for increasing the company's efficiency and profitability.
The Financial Controller will work closely with all teams across NEC Aspire (Sales, Technology, Operations, HR and Legal) as well as colleagues in NEC as required.
The ideal candidate will have the highest level of integrity, an excellent work ethic, taking a pragmatic and structured approach, and the ability to perform professionally in a fast-paced environment, coaching colleagues in the Finance team.
Your responsibilities include: Provide support to the Head of Finance with ongoing development of the Finance team Support the Head of Finance in the provision of commercial recommendations to the management team Input into tactical and strategic business, operational and financial planning Support the Head of Finance with preparation of Board Reports and monthly/ad hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders Lead the preparation and ongoing management of annual budgets and forecasting Implement robust financial controls and reporting systems Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, monthly variance analysis & operational KPIs, and compliance reporting to Head Office Manage prudent revenue recognition policies & revenue assurance reporting supporting the Sales team Lead on cashflow management and forecasting of working capital requirements Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with auditors on audit & corporate taxation Assist the Head of Finance in managing other funding sources - grants, leasing, loans etc Ensure regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met - Revenue Commissioners, CSO, CRO returns Establish and develop strong relations with senior management in Dublin, Belgrade and Lisbon and external partners Required Education/Experience Highly motivated qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) 5+ years post qualification experience A high degree of commercial awareness with excellent analytical, technical and IT skills Able to 'think big' and operate with a 'hands-on' approach and ability to use initiative Excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to prioritise workload Experience in the services/software/technology industry is highly desirable and a bias towards telecom industry experience is preferable Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation skills Ability and comfort working with and maximising rudimentary systems Strong problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach and time management skills Strong accounts preparation & business analysis experience required Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous experience in a high growth or multinational company would be an advantage Advanced MS Excel & PowerPoint knowledge System modelling skills are advantageous Experience working with Japanese Head office is advantageous.
