Project
RCSI has been awarded a Health Research Board (HRB) Knowledge Translation Award (KEDs) grant to support knowledge translation and dissemination activities for our BRAIN-RESTORE project, which examines the rehabilitation needs of people with a brain tumour in Ireland.
Summary of Post
This is a part-time Research Assistant post for a one-year duration (0.5FTE; this is flexible). Specific objectives of this award include:
* To provide educational content for healthcare professionals managing patients after brain tumour.
* To develop a health summary care tool for patients/carers.
* To provide a central resource repository for information and support.
* To co-design a resource on ‘ENHANCING FUNCTION AFTER A BRAIN TUMOUR DIAGNOSIS’.
* To create a Brain Tumour Knowledge Exchange network.
Specifically, the duties of the post are:
* Prepare educational materials in conjunction with the research team.
* Arrange meetings with stakeholders, including minute taking.
* Assist in the preparation of summary health tool.
* Plan the World Café event to launch resources.
* Support the write-up findings for peer-reviewed publications.
Qualifications – (Essential):
* A Masters or undergraduate qualification in health, social sciences, psychology, communication or a related subject.
Knowledge & Experience – (Essential):
* Good organisational and administrative skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Good computer skills including MS Office.
* Strong project and time management skills.
* Experience of using social media for research dissemination.
Knowledge & Experience – (Desirable):
* Knowledge of health service and cancer research.
* Experience of literature searching and organising meetings.
