We are currently recruiting for a relief 'Domestic Assistant'. The purpose of this role is to cover sick, maternity, annual leave etc., in the departments of Catering, Laundry, and Housekeeping. This role requires flexibility and a can-do attitude. The duties for each of the departments are outlined below, and full training will be provided. Catering Assistant - Responsibilities and Duties
1. Compliance with 'HACCP' guidelines as directed by the Head Chef ensuring all work practices are in line with regulations.
2. Serving food to our residents in a friendly, timely manner and clearing away after service.
3. Ensuring the food service areas, kitchenettes, and dining rooms throughout the Nursing home are clean at all times.
4. Ensuring the dishwasher and surrounding area is clean and used efficiently.
5. Recording of temperatures in food service areas as directed.
6. Checking and recording incoming goods to verify quality and quantity.
7. Catering for the food and beverage needs of the Nursing home.
8. Food service at mealtimes for residents and other personnel.
9. Ensuring all the equipment is cleaned to a high standard as directed.
10. Ensuring waste is minimized.
11. Rotating where necessary to meet the catering demands of the role as directed.
Laundry Assistant - Responsibilities and Duties
1. Daily laundering and ironing of clothing within the nursing home.
2. Sorting and labeling of residents' clothing.
3. Ensuring linen is available for all departments as requested.
4. Maintaining cleanliness of the Laundry Room.
5. Collection and correct disposal of domestic and clinical waste.
6. Receiving stock and ensuring safe storage.
7. Ensuring team members adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations.
8. Covering housekeeping in the home when required.
9. Carrying out any other reasonable tasks set by management.
Housekeeping Assistant - Responsibilities and Duties
1. Daily cleaning of the general areas and residents' rooms within the nursing home.
2. Proper use and storage of cleaning equipment and cleaning solutions.
3. Collection and correct disposal of domestic waste.
4. Cleaning of spillages as they occur and proper use of wet signs.
5. Collecting trays, using the dishwasher, and maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen in the unit.
6. Washing up crockery, cutlery, etc. as required.
7. Setting up trays for meals.
8. Ensuring safe work practices are observed and the environment is safe at all times.
9. The post will be rotational and flexible according to the needs of the nursing home.
