Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm on the appointment of a Health & Safety Manager.
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety across the business whilst leading the development and implementation of effective H&S policies and procedures.
In your new role:
* Encourage and support H&S compliance, continuously improving site safety performance
* Document and assess the site's risk profile, creating and executing plans to mitigate risks
* Develop and review practical H&S policies and procedures
* Stay updated with relevant H&S legislation
* Promote Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) awareness across all teams
* Integrate H&S measures into equipment upgrades and installations.
* Ensure activities have current risk assessments and suitable training as needed
* Assess workplace hazards, identifying preventative measures with management
* Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
* Lead safety audits, analyse findings, and suggest improvements
* Work closely with regulatory auditors and inspectors
* Ensure all incidents and near-misses are reported, investigated, and addressed promptly
What you will need to succeed:
* 5+ years' experience in a similar Health and Safety role
* BSc (Hons) in Occupational H&S, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent.
* Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
* Experience with investigations, audits, inspections, compiling reports and making recommendations as appropriate
* Good communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills
* Excellent IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
* Full clean driving license
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
* Experience within heavy industry (manufacturing/engineering/construction)
* Internal auditor certification
* Environmental certification
