A Senior Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of engineering work on construction projects across the Munster region. This role involves ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards. The Senior Site Engineer will work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver high-quality construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage day-to-day site engineering activities, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and according to design specifications.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality control standards.
* Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
* Conduct site surveys, set out construction works, and ensure accuracy in levels and measurements.
* Identify and resolve technical issues that arise on-site, providing innovative solutions where necessary.
* Review and interpret project drawings, plans, and specifications, ensuring alignment with construction activities.
* Monitor project progress and report on key milestones, delays, and risks to senior management.
* Maintain accurate documentation, including site records, reports, method statements, and risk assessments.
* Liaise with design teams, consultants, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of engineering solutions.
* Lead and mentor junior engineers and site teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a site engineering role, preferably in the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, building regulations, and industry best practices.
* Proficiency in site surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, total stations, and levels).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and BIM applications is an advantage.
* Full, clean driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Munster region.
