MICE Sales Manager – Clayton Hotel Burlington Road
We have a fantastic new vacancy for a MICE Sales Manager in the excellent Clayton Hotel Burlington Road.
In this exciting role, the MICE Sales Manager will work closely with the sales team and be responsible for maximising the MICE sales potential and work towards achieving revenue budgets through business development, particularly in the US, UK, and European markets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Work in conjunction with the Sales Director to reach the targeted sales budget for MICE business annually.
* Build relationships with key buyers in the US, UK, and European markets.
* Identify potential sales activities within US, UK, and Europe to produce sales.
* Perform day-to-day sales activity including lead generation, sales calls, contracting & rate negotiation, site inspections, attendance at trade shows, client entertainment, and overseas sales trips as required.
* Management of advertising & promotional campaigns in conjunction with the Marketing Executive to reach identified buyers.
* Report weekly & monthly on account performance and general activity to General Manager and Central Office.
* Ensure the accurate processing, distribution, recording/filing, and follow-up of all sales correspondence, including the execution of contracts, quotations, confirmations, cancellations, etc. Utilise CRM system for client database building.
* Identify key competitors and carry out regular competitor analysis; monitoring their performance, rates, and sales activity.
* Protect and promote the image of the hotel at all times, both in print and verbally.
* Be fully aware of the main market developments and other factors that would influence business or create favourable market conditions.
* Overseas travel will play a key part in this role.
Requirements:
* 2 to 3 years in a Sales/Marketing role, ideally in a hotel or customer-focused environment.
* A creative thinker with an outgoing personality who can drive new relationships as well as maintain existing ones.
* Experience of effective people management in a team environment.
* Sales focused, target and results driven.
* Effective communicator to clients and colleagues, individually and in groups; with the capacity to provide clear written reports.
* Confident, ambitious, and pro-active.
