Project Manager - Chief Technical Services Officer
This role provides project management technical services and expenditure control for the development and execution of capital projects. The successful candidate will plan and supervise the execution of these projects, which include commercial buildings, mental health facilities, and primary care units located in Kildare and Dublin West.
Duties:
* Manage the preparation of a comprehensive brief for projects.
* Manage necessary consultation processes.
* Comply with all regulatory requirements, including permissions, licenses, certificates, and approvals.
* Define requirements for design services, buildings, and equipment.
* Advise on the selection of design teams, other professional services, and contractors for capital projects.
* Develop proposals and action plans for timely and efficient contract completion.
* Coordinate tender and control stages of projects.
* Supervise staff and contractors in implementing agreed programmes.
* Manage and control project timescales and budgets for planning, design, construction, and equipping to agreed quality standards.
* Anticipate difficulties and problems, especially those arising from phasing, variations, commissioning, and vacating, and ensure that where necessary these are either resolved or decisions are made on avoidable claims for delays, extras, etc.
* Manage and control expenditure on each assigned project, including current estimates of total costs, running statements of financial commitment, and forecasts of expenditure.
* Ensure appropriate maintenance arrangements are put in place for new buildings.
* Ensure that agreed programme is completed within time and tender sum.
* Fire precautions schemes and propose priorities in the allocation of resources available for these schemes.
* Work and consult with property managers and fire officers to ensure compliance with property transaction protocols and other relevant property-related tasks when assigned.
* Ensure that adequate fire prevention and safety measures and standards are devised.
Requirements:
* A Level 8 academic qualification in an engineering or construction discipline or associate professional membership with one of the following:
* Engineers Ireland
* Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland
* Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
* Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in planning, design, project management, or construction of highly compliant buildings or in the installation or maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and heating services of such buildings. Preferably, this experience will be gained in a professional engineering, consulting engineer, or developer environment.
