You will represent Men’s Aid with professionalism, promoting ethical behaviour and fostering a positive, engaged workplace culture. This role requires a leader who can build relationships with key stakeholders and funders, continually enhancing the charity’s reputation and impact. This role reports to the Chairperson and the Board of Directors.SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYOperations, Governance, Risk, and PoliciesThe CEO is responsible for leading the development and implementation of corporate and charity governance practices to ensure Men’s Aid adheres to the highest standards of governance and full compliance with CRA codes and requirements.Governance and Website Management: Oversee and ensure the Men’s Aid website is regularly updated, accurately reflecting the Board of Directors and committee activities.Risk Management: Lead the creation, maintenance, and oversight of the Charity’s risk register, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory bodies. Implement effective risk awareness and management systems across Men’s Aid.Policy Development and Compliance: Ensure that fit-for-purpose policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices are developed and implemented within Men’s Aid. Ensure these are well understood by all employees. Approve operational policies and procedures prior to implementation, subject to Board agreement as appropriate.Policy Updates and Oversight: Regularly review and ensure that up-to-date, fit-for-purpose policies are in place across all key areas, including service delivery, finance, governance, and human resources.Health and Safety Management: Develop and enforce the Health and Safety Policy, ensuring it is fully complied with across the organisation. Lead regular safety drills and ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to emergency procedures.Fundraising and CommunicationsThe CEO will be responsible for diversifying the charity’s income streams. This includes creating a comprehensive funding / fundraising strategy, as well as overseeing its implementation and rollout. You will also lead efforts to raise awareness of the organisation, utilising a variety of communication methodologies to effectively promote Men’s Aid’s mission and expand its reach.Income Diversification: Take the lead in diversifying the charity's income streams. Develop a comprehensive funding and fundraising strategy, and oversee the implementation and execution of this plan to ensure the charity’s financial sustainability.Awareness & Promotion: Lead efforts to raise awareness of Men’s Aid and its mission, utilizing a variety of communication methods to expand the charity’s reach and engage key stakeholders.Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, and external organisations, to drive the charity’s success and visibility.Fundraising and Income Generation: Work consistently to meet agreed income generation targets, contributing directly to the financial stability and growth of the organisation and ensuring long-term sustainability through diverse revenue streams.Strategic Alignment and Stakeholder Engagement: Aligning organisational strategy with the interests and priorities of key stakeholders, ensuring efforts are focused on measurable, high-impact results.Employees/Workforce ManagementThe CEO is responsible for the day-to-day effective management, stewardship, performance management, and development of Men’s Aid’s workforce. Specific responsibilities include:Recruitment and Compliance: Ensure the recruitment policy is adhered to when hiring new staff members at Men’s Aid, ensuring a fair, transparent, and efficient recruitment process.Positive Working Environment: Foster and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment for all employees, promoting employee well-being and engagement.Leadership and Management: Implement effective leadership strategies to ensure operational efficiency, with clear organisational systems, processes, and practices that align with Men’s Aid’s goals.Employee Well-being and Culture: Create and maintain a workplace culture that promotes the well-being of employees and aligns with the needs of individuals accessing Men’s Aid services.Employee Relations, HR Management and Performance ManagementBoard Support and Business PlanningThe CEO plays a critical role in supporting the operation and administration of the Board of Directors and its committees.Advisory Role: Provide timely and accurate advice to the Chair and Board members on relevant matters to ensure informed decision-making.Meeting attendance, Board pack presentation and annual report and business plan preparation and oversight.ICT, Procurement, and ContractsThe CEO is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and management of ICT systems, procurement, and contracts.IT Systems and Data Management: Provide strategic direction for the maintenance and development of all IT systems, electronic data management, and associated hardware and software, ensuring alignment with Men’s Aid’s operational needs.Service and Maintenance Contracts: Oversee all service and maintenance contracts, ensuring that these contracts are monitored and renewed as necessary. Advise the Board of Directors regarding contract renewals and ensure that the appropriate process is followed. When tenders are required, prepare the tender document for Board approval and ensure that at least three tenders are sought for competitive evaluation.Procurement Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with best practices and adhere to the specific requirements set by Men’s Aid’s funders.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEThird level qualification, BA or Masters in Management, Business Studies, or a related field.At least 5 years of experience working in a senior management role with an income generation remit.Good understanding of the charity or not for profit landscape.Proven experience in employee management, team leadership and the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.Strong financial acumen with a proven ability to make informed business decisions based on financial analysis.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEThe CEO should demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:Fundraising / Income Generation: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising targets consistently, contributing to the financial stability and growth of an organisation.Communications and PR: Extensive experience in developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies to enhance brand awareness, drive fundraising efforts and promote an organisation’s mission.Professional Knowledge and Skills: Display the necessary expertise to effectively undertake the responsibilities of the role.People Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.Leadership: Proven leadership abilities to guide and inspire teams and stakeholders.Change Management: Ability to manage and lead through organisational change effectively.Initiative and Motivation: Self-driven with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to motivate others.Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Team Building: Strong team-building skills to foster collaboration and ensure effective teamwork.Problem Solving and Decision Making: Strong problem-solving abilities with sound judgment in decision-making.Planning, Organising, and Time Management: Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills to ensure effective delivery of objectives.Client/Customer Focus: A strong focus on delivering high-quality services to clients and stakeholders.OTHER REQUIREMENTSFull Clean Driving License: Possession of a full clean driving license and access to a car.Legislative Knowledge: A strong understanding of legislation impacting Men’s Aid.Knowledge of Domestic Abuse is desirable: Familiarity with recent studies, reviews, and reports specific to domestic abuse.IT Proficiency: Strong IT skills and comfort in using databases and other relevant software.SALARY, BENEFITS AND LOCATIONSalary: €65,000 - €75,000 per annum, depending on experience (DOE).Hybrid Working: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.Hours: 35 hours per week.Free Parking: Available on-site.Annual leave: 23 daysLocation: St Anne’s Resource Centre CLG, Railway Street, Navan, Co.
