Head of Finance - Not for Profit Function: As the Head of Finance, you will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial management and governance of the organisation. Your primary function will be to provide financial guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimise financial performance. Additionally, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's overall financial strategy and fostering a culture of financial transparency, accountability, and integrity. Duties and Responsibilities: Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategy in alignment with overall objectives. Provide strategic financial leadership on decision-making issues Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Tax Compliance: Oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting. Stay informed about changes in Irish tax laws and regulations. Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with external partners, financial institutions, and stakeholders to optimise financial relationships and support business objectives. Team Leadership: Mentor finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability Recruit, train, and develop finance staff as necessary. Fundraising and Grants: Managing the multiple income fundraising sources including the HSE, private and corporate. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree in finance or accounting preferred. 3 years+ progressive financial leadership experience. Proven track record of success in senior financial leadership roles, preferably in a comparable not for profit organisation. Strong grasp of financial principles, accounting stds, and regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams and driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Experience with ERP systems and financial software. Skills and Abilities: Excellent financial acumen and analytical skills Strong leadership skills, empowering the finance team to deliver results Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience with stakeholder relationships including tax advisors and auditors. Confident with corporate governance principles.
