CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent Position
LOCATION: Tuam, Co. Galway
REPORTING TO: Managing Director
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS:
* Hours: 39 hours per week, nominally from 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
* Work Location: Office-based five days per week at Cormac Tagging’s head office in Tuam, Co. Galway.
* Flexibility: Hours may vary in agreement with the CEO to meet business needs.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Cormac Tagging is seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to support the next phase of its growth journey. This newly created senior leadership role reflects the company’s ambition to scale further and strengthen its operational capabilities. Working closely with the CEO, the COO will lead day-to-day production while helping to shape and execute the company’s strategic direction.
This is a hands-on role, combining operational oversight with the leadership of a growing team. The successful candidate will play a key part in driving operational excellence, supporting continued growth, and ensuring Cormac Tagging continues to deliver on its brand promise: driven by service, committed to quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Implement best practices to manage day-to-day production operations, streamline processes, reduce costs and improve delivery timelines.
* Work closely with the CEO to execute the company’s strategic roadmap.
* Identify and evaluate opportunities for international growth.
* Drive new product development initiatives with the management team.
* Assist in financial planning, budgeting and cost management.
* Oversee production planning, process improvements, resource allocation and stock management.
* Implement systems and process improvements to support scalability (e.g. CRM).
* Monitor and report on key operational metrics (KPIs).
* Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
* Degree-level qualification in business, operations, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior operations role.
* Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets and improve operational efficiency.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - familiarity with CRM systems is an advantage.
* Excellent time management, organisational skills and analytical thinking.
* Professional, confident and approachable manner.
* Full clean driving licence required.
* Knowledge of the agriculture sector is an advantage.
* Availability for travel may be required.
