Role: Construction Category Manager
Location: Dublin/Hybrid
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Category Manager to lead and manage the sourcing and procurement activities within the construction and facilities spend categories. This role will play a crucial part in optimising procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective project delivery.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for the construction and facilities categories, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
2. Lead the RFx (Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, etc.) processes, including supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management.
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including construction management, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless project delivery and effective supplier partnerships.
4. Manage agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards, while driving value and mitigating risk.
5. Analyse procurement data and generate reports to provide insights that support decision-making and evaluate performance within the category.
6. Develop, manage, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure category, supplier, and project performance.
7. Leverage technology and analytic tools to enhance category management practices, drive data-driven decision-making, and support innovation.
8. Lead strategic projects aimed at process improvement, strategy implementation, and innovation within the category.
Skills and Expertise:
9. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management/Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
10. 7 years of experience in sourcing, category management, or procurement roles, with a focus on managing construction, facilities, or logistics spend categories.
11. Proven experience in sourcing strategies, project delivery options, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within designated categories.
12. Strong experience in managing agreements and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
