Maintenance Technician - Medical Devices in Kildare North
Cpl are delighted to be supporting our client partner who are a globally recognised brand in Medical Device Manufacturing.
Based in a technology campus in North Kildare for the past 10 years, their business is continuing to grow and a with 25% increase in production output forecast for 2025, they are now looking to recruit a number of skilled professionals to join their high-performance engineering team.
At the moment, all of the maintenance team work a day shift only (Monday to Friday) and support the evening and weekend production shifts with an on-call / out of hours service back up. The on-call rota is shared between all the maintenance team and call outs are paid at market leading rates.
Job Responsibilities
1. Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on a range of high-speed production lines and robotics units used in the manufacture of sterile medical devices and drug delivery systems.
2. Execute a best-in-class maintenance programme across high spec production and packaging lines as well as sophisticated robots.
3. Set-up, install, maintain, and support packaging and manufacturing equipment to ensure optimum performance.
4. Provide day-to-day engineering services in a busy high-speed manufacturing environment.
5. Be responsible for the Zone/Line performance and overall maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
6. Multi-task and solve problems that arise on site efficiently and quickly.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation.
8. Deliver a high-quality maintenance service to production.
9. Ensure maintenance works efficiently, effectively, and safely in line with the maintenance strategy.
10. Plan work activities to improve Line Zone performance in conjunction with the Supervisor/Lead technician.
Minimum Requirements
1. At least 5 years’ trade experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
2. Experience in High Volume Regulated GMP Manufacturing or related industries (FMCG, Bottling, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical).
3. Competent in using PLC for fault finding; programming experience is an advantage.
4. National Craft Senior Trades Electrician or Mechanical Qualification or equivalent is essential.
5. Excellent communication and people skills.
6. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines; team collaborator and good problem solver.
