Full Stack Developer - Middle Office
Our team is responsible for the systems supporting Middle Office business functions. These include the calculation of real-time PnL, Financing calculation and allocation, Currency Exposure calculation and automated FX Hedge for approximately 270 Portfolio Managers. We are looking for a full stack software engineer who has the ability to lead the development of technical solutions that solve complex business problems in this area. To be successful you must be able to interact with Middle Office staff, Portfolio Managers, and other IT teams to turn business requirements into actionable technical plans and deliver against them.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Design, Implement and Support our Middle Office applications and solutions for a global organization
2. Work directly with business users and business analysts to identify business and technical requirements
3. Lead projects to completion, while managing stakeholders’ expectations
4. Grow, coach and mentor junior development staff
Qualifications/Skills Required
1. Candidates must have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years programming experience
2. Full stack 5+ years of hands-on coding in C# .NET. Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, concurrency and modern software construction techniques (dependency injection / unit testing)
3. Other technologies include Rabbit MQ, Kafka, Elastic/Kibana and functional programming
4. Can write high-quality SQL queries against a modern relational database (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres)
5. Familiar with modern web-based applications using industry-standard JavaScript libraries such as Angular or React
6. Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, MTK, Docker, EC2, S3, Spark a plus
7. Demonstrable understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and experience with unit testing frameworks & mocking frameworks like SpecFlow, Xunit, Moq etc.
8. Extensive knowledge and understanding of design patterns and their application
9. Strong understanding of financial products, profit and loss accounting processes or other relevant financial services domain knowledge required. Examples include IT roles supporting Finance, GL Accounting, Books and Records functions
10. Self-motivated and delivery focused
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills
12. Quick learner, Detail-oriented; Demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work
13. Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
14. Able to prioritize in a fast-moving, high-pressure, constantly changing environment; High sense of urgency
