We are the Ellison Hotel, Castlebar are currently recruiting a Kitchen Porter to work 32 to 40 hours per week. You will be responsible for the kitchen being kept clean and tidy at all times, with crockery and equipment/utensils washed and put away in a timely manner, and daily/weekly cleaning tasks as per cleaning schedule.
* To assist in ensuring that the kitchen operations run smoothly, working together with all other chefs and the service teams.
* Carry out basic cleaning tasks in accordance with cleaning schedules.
* To collect and clean pots, pans and utensils.
* To use correct cleaning materials and chemicals as directed.
* To maintain cleanliness and tidiness always, adhering to our HACCP system and health and safety regulations.
* Report any incidents, complaints or accidents to management, including all maintenance needs.
* To report for duty on time and in full uniform.
* Maintaining professionalism always, ensuring a professional manner and tone is used when dealing with all team members across all departments.
* To carry out any duties as requested by the Chefs on duty.
* To ensure that the kitchen is always being kept clean and tidy, cleaning own immediate area of work.
* To ensure that any anticipated shortages of cleaning products and materials are promptly communicated to the Chef de Partie, Senior Chef de Partie, Sous Chef or Head Chef.
* To ensure that all staff are treated fairly and courteously.
* Maintain quality and consistency levels of production and presentation, as directed.
* Maintain and set sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards.
* Other duties and responsibilities as dictated by the culinary leadership, not mentioned in this document.
* Unload food/deliveries as directed
* Ensures store rooms and walk in refrigerators are kept clean and tidy
* Assist in cleaning of back of house areas as directed
