Main Purpose of Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Design Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design, Building services design and technical leadership. The ideal candidate would have an electrical trade background and has went on to complete an electrical services engineering degree. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex electrical engineering projects, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Role Duties:
Design and develop electrical systems, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD, Eplan Cableizer, Amtech (Trimble) ,Revit, Lighting reality and other similar electrical engineering design software’s
Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for various projects.
Perform electrical load calculations, equipment selection, and power distribution design for MV and HV systems.
Oversee the preparation of electrical schematics, layouts, and technical documentation.
Develop and review electrical designs for solar and wind energy and building services MV ,LV systems ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications for electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE).
Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality assurance checks to verify system integrity.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Assist in cost estimation, budgeting, and proposal preparation for electrical engineering projects.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design and implementation challenges.
Perform detailed electrical calculations, including load analysis, short-circuit studies, and power distribution design for LV and MV systems.
Evaluate and select electrical components, equipment, and materials based on project requirements.
Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts for electrical system failures.
Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
Promote and enhance electrical safety
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering / electrical service engineering or a related field
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other electrical design software (e.g., Revit, EPlan, DiaLux, MATLAB,).
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Experience in MV and HV electrical system design, including transformers, switchgear, and substations.
Experience in LV Designs
Experience in MV substation Design
Control and protection Design
Lighting Design (internal and external)
Experience in renewable energy Designs
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information to clients and stakeholders.
