We invite you to join our vibrant Biologics External Manufacturing team, where we collaborate across the US, EU, and Asia-Pacific to produce life-saving biologics products. We are seeking a dedicated Drug Product Platform Leader to head our team and oversee our partnerships with external manufacturers.
About the Role
As the Drug Product Platform Leader, you will manage a team focused on ensuring technical excellence in drug product manufacturing. You will provide technical guidance and oversight to our external network of contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) for both commercial and pipeline products. Your role will involve ensuring that our operations align with strategic goals for efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:
1. Oversee the technology transfer of new and existing products to external partners, ensuring a seamless and right-first-time process.
2. Monitor and support the performance of established commercial products across our network of CMOs, driving continuous improvement and effective resolution of complex investigations.
3. Cultivate a culture of talent development, inclusivity, and collaboration within your team and across our global network, leveraging diverse talent to enable high performance.
4. Address complex technical challenges and drive continuous improvement in our processes, balancing technical rigor with business outcomes.
What skills you will need:
In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
Education and experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science required.
2. Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or Business preferred.
3. Experience required:
1. Approximately 12 years of relevant experience if you hold a Bachelor’s degree
2. Approximately 10 years of relevant experience if you hold a Master’s degree
3. Approximately 8 years of relevant experience if you hold a PhD
Skills requirements
1. Proven expertise in Drug Product Technical Operations and biologics manufacturing, including antibodies, peptides, and enzymes.
2. Experience leading technical transfers and building lean, agile teams.
3. Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering business results.
4. Ability to engage partners with a service-oriented mindset and communicate effectively, fostering a collaborative environment.
Preferred experience and skills desired
1. Experience with vial and syringe filling, and lyophilization.
2. Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience in process improvement.
3. Background in complex international environments and matrix organizations.
4. Creative and innovative thinker with a solid foundation in engineering principles and process troubleshooting.
Travel requirements
1. Willingness to travel 25-50% for partner assignments outside your primary location, including short-term travel as needed.
