Job Description
An amazing opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Specialist. This role will play a vital role in the efficient operations of the site ensuring high availability and reliability of critical systems. The role will involve using computerized systems and other data to make decisions, with teams across the site with a Safety First, Quality Always position. The role will require shift work and reports to an Associate Director Engineering.
What you will do:
* Monitor performance of all critical safety and utilities systems to ensure they are performing to site requirements, working with Process Team Management and Service Providers on troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution of issues.
* Document performance in shift reports to ensure information is transferred from shift to shift.
* Work with Site Planners on Integrated Site Plan for planned outages and maintenance activities.
* Manage and provide assistance to service providers to ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
* Co-ordinate and approve permits in all non-process areas to ensure safety procedures are adhered to.
* Perform site walks to verify EHS and Quality standards are adhered to.
* Act as first responder / incident controller for any site EHS events, conducting and documenting investigation and problem-solving for any issues that occur during the shift.
* Develop and provide input into Operating Procedure and Training materials.
* Identify improvement opportunities and lead small projects.
* Train staff and contractors.
What skills you will need:
* Experience of operations and maintenance in a biologic’s facility.
* Incident Response and Management.
* High Focus on Safety and Quality Compliance.
* Expertise and capability of managing high-risk activities (e.g., Confined Space Entry, Hot Works, Line Breaking, Electrical Switching).
* Problem Solving and Decision Making.
* Experience of predictive and preventative maintenance.
* Experience of managing vendors and contractors including permitting of activities.
* Working knowledge of SAP or another Maintenance Management System.
* Excellent organizing and planning skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a cross-functional collaborative environment.
* High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
* Confidence to respond positively when under pressure.
* An engineering qualification with evidence of continuous professional development.
* Trained in a number of High-Risk Activities (e.g., Confined Space, Electrical Switching, Line Breaking).
* Desirable: Electrical Qualification.
