Job Title: Apprentice Fitter
Location: Limerick, Ireland
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Friday 8 AM to 3:30 PM.
Overall Purpose of the Job
The job of the Apprentice Fitter concerns completing all aspects of a time-based Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter in conjunction with Solas. You will be working under supervision as part of a multi-discipline maintenance team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities - Under supervision of qualified maintenance Technicians
1. To carry out their full apprenticeship training in compliance with SOLAS MAMF requirements.
2. Ensure compliance at all times with Health and Safety and legislative requirements.
3. Ensure that all EHS procedures are adhered to at all times. Contribute to targets related to Safety, Quality, Compliance and Continuous Improvement.
4. To assist with planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our control as per the Plant CMMS while upholding compliance with the client's GDP standards.
5. To assist with fault finding and repairs on equipment during unplanned downtime events.
6. Attend external block release as dictated by Solas.
7. Pass both Junior & Senior trades exams.
8. Maintain all work records on the client's CMMS system and ensure all works are completed and closed within the agreed timeframe.
9. Liaising with department engineers and other support personnel to identify and solve problems.
10. Ensure all training is completed on time per client learning management system.
11. Must be willing to take on and familiarize with all relevant site systems as deemed necessary to complete the role.
12. Maintain an internal 'Best Practice' regime and encourage continuous improvements.
13. Immediately report any accidents, incidents or near misses to your line manager or supervisor.
14. Take on small ad-hoc projects from time to time as deemed necessary by the Maintenance manager or maintenance supervisor.
Person Specification
1. Leaving certificate with Minimum O3 in maths.
2. Proficient in English, written, Oral & Aural.
3. Competent PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
Skills Aptitude Knowledge
1. Must be willing to carry out instructions thoroughly, accurately & without discourse.
2. Must be a team player with good communication skills, both verbal & written.
3. Enthusiastic approach to work with good attention to detail.
4. Good initiative and proactive approach to work with good time management skills.
5. Basic PC skills.
6. Well presented with excellent interpersonal skills in a customer-facing environment.
7. Customer focused.
Qualifications And Experience
1. Successful Leaving Certificate.
2. Leaving certificate with Minimum O3 in maths.
3. Basic computer skills are essential.
