Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: IDA Business and Technology Park, Model Farm Road, Cork.
Reporting to (Position):Chef Manager / Workplace manager
Total Hours Per Week: 40
Days Per Week: Mon-Fri
Shift Pattern: 10.00 - 18.00 varied

* Fast-paced breakfast and lunch service
* Working on your own initiative and making decisions
* Culinary knowledge and techniques
* Prioritizing tasks effectively
* Working knowledge of Food Safety Regulations
To fulfill your duties, you need to:
* Ensure the production of food is to the highest quality and service standards
* Actively build good guest rapport
* Assist with special duties or functions as required
* Attend meetings, courses, and training sessions as necessary
* Relieve and assist in other areas within the unit or other establishments

Job Dimensions:
1. Practical:
* Greet and feed staff/guests/residents in a polite and friendly manner
* Cooking by the menu
* Cleaning the kitchen after use and maintaining cleanliness
* Food orders as per menu
* Collaborate with the manager on duty regarding menus
* Handle deliveries according to procedure
2. Customer Relations:
* Encourage good relations with all colleagues on site
* Promptly address any queries or complaints from the manager
* Cooperate with safe working practices (manual handling and safe use of chemicals)
* Adhere to all training in relation to cleaning to promote the highest standards of safety and hygiene awareness
* Follow all guidelines and training provided by the supervisor/trainer

Qualification Required: HACCP
Experience Required:
* 5 years in catering with 2/3 years at Chef de Partie level
* Fluent English
* Must have legal entitlement to work in Ireland (evidence required)
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure safe work practices and procedures are followed on site
* Use of Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment (w/a)
* Understand how ISO fits into daily business operations
* Read, understand, and work in accordance with the company’s HSEQ Policies
* Complete tasks in accordance with company HSEQ procedures and work instructions
Other features of the job:
It may be necessary to work alternative hours, shift patterns, or unsociable hours, including weekends and sometimes more than contracted hours. Attendance at training events and/or meetings and travel to other locations may be required.
