FP&A Corporate Analyst (6 Month Contract)
Based in Dublin, reporting to the Head of Corporate FP&A, this is an exciting role in the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. The FP&A Corporate Analyst role is a fantastic opportunity to work growing multi-national (re)insurance operation with a strong presence in Dublin. This role helps provide cost analysis, forecasting & budgeting for 4 operating segments and support other key corporate projects & initiatives.
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual; keen to learn about the business and to be the future of FP&A. This role is ideally suited to someone with strong analytical skills, detail orientated and ideally some experience at stakeholder management.

What you will do
Be a key business partner in FP&A for expense analysis to 4 global finance teams
Ongoing analysis of G&A (General & Administrative) expense:
Monitor performance, highlight trends, and analyse causes of unexpected variances compared to budget and prior periods.
Regular communication and coordination with multiple finance teams based in different geographies
Reviewing and monitoring monthly cost allocation process across legal entities ensuring G&A expenses are being booked in accordance with allocation policies.
Monthly & Quarterly Expense Reporting:
Monitoring and analysing G&A bookings with a view to producing meaningful expense analysis and present same to senior management.
Assist in establishing new processes around departmental G&A analysis and present those exhibits to functional cost owners.
Annual Planning and Ongoing Forecasting:
Contribute to the completion of the annual budget cycle and the ongoing incremental forecasting process
Liaising with both underwriting and support teams in setting annual budgets
Provide support projecting investment income, and other expenditure items including financing costs, tax and IT project spend.
Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis to cost centre owners and management.
Engage in continuous improvement of the FP&A function to enhance the information available to the organisation through the use of IBM Planning Analytics and Power BI
Assist as needed with corporate or group queries from senior stakeholders in global finance. Including but not limited to engagement and understanding of:
Group investment planning and approach
Treasury/debt planning
Effective tax rate – planning and long-term tax trajectory
Intercompany arrangements and their impact on different legal entities
Key group KPI calculation (RoE, BVPS)
Be involved in group projects and analyses as required by the Group Head of FP&A or Head of Corporate FP&A
What you require for the role
Relevant experience in a similar expense planning and reporting FP&A role is desirable
Previous experience working in an insurance/reinsurance company preferred
Detail oriented but capable of delivering high level messaging to senior executives
Ability to engage autonomously with senior stakeholders
Experience of the Lloyds’s insurance market desirable
A numerate individual with a relevant university degree and recently obtained a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Advanced Microsoft Office – in particular, Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
Experience working with global service company expense structures – highly desirable
Ability to think creatively and to work on own initiative with an ambitious attitude and drive
High standard of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to work to challenging deadlines
Articulate with good verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience with SUN/TM1(IBM Planning Analytics)/Power BI is desirable
