Relief Project Worker, South East
Location: Waterford, Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary
Relief Project Workers work in different sites throughout the South East on an "on-call" basis. You may be called for a shift at any stage, and are under no obligation to accept the shift. You are paid per hours worked.
What you will do:
1. To work within the framework of the overall objective of Focus Ireland the values of the agency.
2. To work on a relief basis as part of a team within the framework of the policies and procedures in place for the project or as directed by the project leader, assistant project leader or section manager.
3. To work in close liaison and co-operation with other teams within Focus Ireland and other Statutory and Voluntary Agencies as deemed appropriate.
4. To record and maintain records on a relief basis in relation to the project and individual clients in accordance with statutory requirements and health and safety legislation.
5. To attend and participate in team, review and agency meetings as required.
6. To assist in the implementation of the settlement policies and strategies of Focus Ireland.
7. To work in close liaison with and co-operate with other Focus Ireland projects.
8. To undertake such other duties as might be reasonably assigned to you from time to time in consultation with the Project Leader.
9. To observer all Health, Safety and Welfare at Work regulations and notify management of any risks or concerns you may have in relation to same.
What you will need:
10. A relevant Third Level qualification at degree level i.e. social care, psychology, sociology.
11. Proven direct work experience in relief/part-time work in a social care setting.
12. Experience of supporting marginalised clients/groups.
13. A working knowledge and insight into the social issues (e.g. substance abuse) that a.ffect people who have or are experiencing homelessness.
14. Working knowledge and understanding of Child Protection.
15. Ability to manage and support clients in crisis who present with challenging behaviours based on the values and principles of best practice in Focus Ireland.
16. Experience of key working, assessments and care planning.
17. Excellent report writing and IT skills.
Desirable Requirements:
18. A working knowledge and understanding of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model.
