We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Local Procurement Specialist to support our local business operation. The Local Procurement Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient execution of material strategies and programs for specific commodities, contributing to the overall success of Vertiv EMEA businesses. Reporting to the Director of Procurement EMEA, this position will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to streamline supply chain performance, improve on-time delivery, and drive financial performance.
Responsibilities & Role Requirements:
* Develop and deploy commodity strategies tailored to the local market to support business and financial objectives.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to streamline and improve supply chain performance, including material containment, productivity, inventory turnover, and cycle time reduction.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to address material shortages and escalate issues as needed.
* Support the implementation of system tools and processes to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
* Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring the highest level of service and conducting regular business reviews.
* Ensure compliance with company trade, import/export, and environmental compliance programs related to supplier selection and management.
* Oversee contract and agreement negotiations with local suppliers, ensuring fair business practices and adherence to company policies.
* Review, analyze, and recommend changes to procurement programs, processes, and policies to increase efficiency and effectiveness within Vertiv EMEA.
* Implement approved recommendations and ensure compliance with associated policies, procedures, and regulations.
* Perform other duties and oversee special projects and assignments as assigned by Vertiv’s Management.
* Travel may be required (approximately 10%+).
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related roles.
* Strong understanding of market dynamics and supplier landscape.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken).
