Patent Examiner in the Intellectual Property Office of Ireland
The Intellectual Property Office of Ireland (IPOI), under the auspices of the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment, is the national intellectual property body. It is an independent statutory office headed by the Controller of Intellectual Property and is responsible for the administration of intellectual property (IP) rights in Ireland.
The IPOI currently has a vacancy for a Patent Examiner in its office in Kilkenny.
Responsibilities:
1. Assess the technical and legal aspects of an invention disclosed in a patent application or of a product disclosed in an application for a Supplementary Protection Certificate.
2. Provide advice and information regarding the patent system in Ireland and abroad.
3. Liaise with applicants and perform other search, examination, and administration tasks as required.
