IT Support Engineer - South Kildare - €35-40K About the role Irish government organisation with responsibility for the Horse Racing Industry has an urgent requirement for a level 1/2 IT support Engineer.
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure & Network Manager, the IT Support Engineer will be responsible for the provision of quality technical support service to the organisations end users.
Located in South Kildare (Curragh Area), the role is primarily onsite with attendance required on a 3-4 day per week basis.

Responsibilities: * Work as part of a team on IT Helpdesk providing support for 250 users of the following systems/technologies: o Microsoft 365 o WAN & LAN networks o Firewalls o VMWare & Windows Server o Windows 10/11 - support and deployment o OS and Software patching o Varied business applications * Ensure best practice is followed as it relates to IT security though out the HRI network.
* Support and maintenance of the HRI Local and Wide area networks * Support the update and test of the HRI Group Business Continuity Plan as required * Provide out-of-hours support and travel between HRI locations as required * Follow HRI's procurement process when purchasing hardware and software * Research, source and implement software/hardware solutions when required Essential Candidate requirements * IT Degree qualified or equivalent.
* At least 1-2 years' experience as a computer technician or similar role.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills.
* Good communication skills and thorough knowledge of computer system and IT components.
Experience with LAN/WAN networks.
* Ability to problem solve and promote best practices in IT.
* Excellent organisational skills and experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously, in a time sensitive environment.
