Registered nurse on the active Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Confirm annual registration with NMBI Management Qualification (Desirable) Post Graduate course or relevant educational course (Desirable) Experience
· Must have 3 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting, in the last 5 years.
· With at least one of those years being within the specialty or related area.
· Have the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
· Experience with an Electronic Health Record (Desirable)
· Preceptorship experience (Desirable)
The Purpose of This Role: The Clinical Nurse Manager I (CNM I) in Recovery is responsible for overseeing the operations and clinical management of the Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
This role includes supervising and supporting nursing staff, ensuring that all recovery procedures are conducted in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
The role also involves coordinating with anaesthesia, surgical, and medical teams to facilitate smooth transitions for patients post-surgery.
Key Responsibilities: · Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation, and review of care for patients according to BSHS
standards in conjunction with the CNMII.
· Provide clinical and professional leadership to the nursing team in the PACU.
· Ensure the highest standards of patient care are delivered safely and effectively.
· Oversee the operational and clinical activities within the Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit, ensuring smooth workflows.
· Support and mentor nursing staff through in-service training and professional development.
· Coordinate the orientation of new staff and provide guidance to student nurses.
· Maintain compliance with safety protocols, policies, and best practices in surgical care.
· Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
