Quantity Surveyor - M&E Contractor - Ballycoolin, Dublin

Our client provides a range of mechanical and electrical engineering services that include heating, water services, gas, ventilation, and waste service installations and maintenance.
Due to an increase in works, they are seeking to appoint a mechanical quantity surveyor to join the commercial team based in Dublin.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare cost estimates for all project phases, including tender documents, contracts, drawings, BoQ, specifications, budgets, and maintain accurate records.
2. Perform material take-offs prior to purchase requisitions for the projects and report any irregularities or discrepancies to project management.
3. Perform and implement post-contract duties including measurements, final accounts, and evaluation reports. Prepare payment applications and agree with the Client.
4. Work closely with the project team to ensure that measurements, variations, and contractual matters are properly recorded and notified.
5. Manage, examine, control, and evaluate subcontractor works, evaluate claims, variations, invoices, and ensure contractual obligations are satisfied.
6. Evaluate quotations obtained from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring quantities and specifications are in line with tender and project specifications. Prepare and update material status and procurement schedule.
7. Provide necessary detailed backup to support commercial tracking and costing.
8. Conduct meetings with the Client, site managers, project managers, and site engineers.
9. Identify and track changes to the design and project work and adjust the budget accordingly.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering.
2. 1-3+ years of Quantity Surveying / Mechanical Engineering experience.
3. Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration, and close-out relating to multi-discipline civil/construction projects.
4. Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
5. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
6. Good communication skills and strong English capability.
