We are seeking a dynamic and high-performing finance leader, ideally at Finance Director level, who is ready for a new challenge. As CFO, you will not only oversee the finance function and lead a dedicated team but also be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, shaping the company’s strategic direction. The business has a solid, loyal client base and is committed to delivering top-quality products in a fast-moving market.
The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, hands-on, solutions-driven, and a trusted leader with a strong sense of integrity.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
1. Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Manage year-end financial reporting, liaising with auditors to ensure a smooth and timely audit process.
3. Ensure adherence to revenue recognition policies and tax regulations.
Budgeting & Financial Planning:
1. Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for financial plans.
2. Partner with department heads to develop accurate revenue and expenditure forecasts.
3. Provide variance analysis, identifying financial trends and recommending corrective actions.
4. Monitor cash flow on a regular basis and implement strategies to optimise financial stability.
Internal Controls & Risk Management:
1. Review, maintain and strengthen (where necessary) strong internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and mitigate risk.
2. Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring comprehensive and timely responses to audit queries.
3. Continuously assess financial risks and implement strategies to minimise exposure to the same.
Strategic Financial Leadership & Decision Support:
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership on business expansion, capital investments, and cost optimisation.
* Contribute to strategic initiatives, including pricing structures, funding applications, and financial sustainability models.
* Develop financial models and reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Team Leadership & Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
1. Lead and develop the management team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
2. Collaborate with academic, administrative, and operational teams to align financial strategies with institutional goals.
3. Engage with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, banks, and government agencies, to maintain strong financial governance.
Financial Systems & Process Optimisation:
1. Enhance financial systems and reporting tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
2. Implement automation initiatives to streamline financial processes and reduce manual errors.
3. Oversee financial system upgrades and ensure seamless integration with IT infrastructure.
