Job Description:
Gas Networks Ireland operates and maintains Ireland’s €2.7bn, 14,664km national gas network, which is considered one of the safest and most modern renewables-ready gas networks in the world. Over 720,000 Irish homes and businesses trust Ireland’s gas network to provide efficient and reliable energy to meet their heating, cooking, manufacturing, and transport needs. The gas network is the cornerstone of Ireland’s energy system, securely supplying more than 30% of Ireland’s total energy, including 40% of all heating and almost 50% of the country’s electricity generation. By working to replace natural gas with renewable gases, such as biomethane and green hydrogen, and complementing intermittent renewable electricity, Gas Networks Ireland is supporting Ireland’s journey to a cleaner energy future.
The Role:
The role of the Communications team is to work with the business to inform and support how our customers and stakeholders think and feel about us. Our communications are aligned to our corporate strategy, vision, and purpose. We create content that helps to shape the story of Gas Networks Ireland through marketing, public relations, advertising, social and digital media, and cross-functional teamwork. We work as a team to tell the story of the work we do today, the role gas will play in a decarbonised energy system, and how we are transforming the network to carry renewable gases.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with Project and Technical teams to ensure that communications are effectively delivered on key projects and strategic technical initiatives. They will work closely with the wider Communications team to amplify messaging on social and digital media, internal communications, and with key external stakeholders.
