The Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Business Unit (BU) team, reporting directly to the Directors and Partners.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the financial services industry, with a deep understanding of the sector's challenges and trends.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering projects focused on operational excellence, transition management, and remediation.
The role The candidate will be responsible for:
Reporting directly to the directors and partners in the business unit (BU).Delivering projects regarding the achievement of operational excellence, transition management, and remediation.
Working under their own initiative and helping drive the growth in the BU.Detailed responsibilities Business development/operational excellence requirements Providing input into the design and implementation of the business unit strategy.
Working with senior team members to determine the products and services to be delivered.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, assess processes, and recommend changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Improving the financial statement close process through reduction in timelines, or increasing the robustness or quality of the output.
Introducing new or improved management information through the use of new BI tools or the introduction and monitoring of appropriate KPI's.
Providing regular reports and updates to the management team, communicating project status, findings, and recommendations.
Technical requirements Strong experience in the preparation of financial statements in asset management and/or banking.
Strong knowledge of reconciliation processes, ensuring alignment between accounting systems and third-party platforms.
Experience in a variety of funds types/structures such as mutual funds, UCITs, ICAVs, Private equity, REITs, SPVs is an advantage.
Business-level understanding of platform functions such as Investran, Geneva, eFront, Advent, Confluence.
Experience in automated financial reporting packages for asset management is an advantage.
Proficient accountant, with a strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS.Engagement delivery Managing the delivery of a number of engagements.
Assisting in maintaining and developing key client relationships.
Designing and implementing project plans.
Ensuring completion of assignments within appropriate budget and timeframe.
Managing a team while on assignment.
Demonstrating commercial/business awareness.
Having a passion for client service.
Experience, skills and attributes Deep knowledge of financial services/asset management industry.
Appropriate professional qualification in accounting or another appropriate discipline.
Specific experience in large-scale finance projects in a multinational environment.
Experience in a top 10 practice.- 8 years PQE practical experience in auditing or preparing financial statements.
Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team.
Strong project management skills.
Strong communicator, highly articulate with good report writing and excel skills.
Mature and confident with excellent interpersonal skills.
