As they continue to grow, they are looking for an experienced Estimator to join the team based out of their new offices in County Offaly. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of both new and ongoing projects with an emphasis on accurate costings and competitive pricing.
About Your New Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator with proven experience in construction cost estimation. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tender submissions, and supporting the project management team to ensure successful project delivery within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of works to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates.
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing for materials and services.
* Develop and manage tender submissions, ensuring all necessary information is included and submitted on time.
* Conduct site visits and measurements to assess the scope of work and prepare accurate take-offs.
* Work closely with the project management and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective solutions for projects.
* Provide input during the pre-construction phase to identify risks, opportunities, and budget constraints.
* Maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate exchange of information.
* Monitor and update project budgets, reporting on variances and changes to the project cost.
What Skills You Need
* Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (minimum 3-5 years).
* Experience with both residential and commercial projects is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and pricing.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., [list specific software if needed]).
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
* A relevant qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field is desirable.
