We are looking for a Lead for our GPU Systems Software Team in Cork. This would suit someone who wants to be involved in building a world-class team of software engineers and be the Technical Lead for the team.
The Qualcomm graphics system team in Cork will be developing software for the next generation of graphics processors (GPU). The Systems Software Team is responsible for delivering device drivers and tools for prototyping, exploring and verifying new and prospective features for next generation GPUs.
System software engineers work closely with top mobile GPU experts, systems architects, hardware designers, verification engineers and the silicon team throughout the development life cycle of GPU. Knowledge of graphics, algorithms, computer architectures, and operating systems are required to develop device drivers and solutions to support the graphics team for validation of future Adreno GPUs.
You will need to cultivate a deep understanding of Qualcomm’s Adreno hardware architecture and its impact on relevant graphics APIs. You will be the subject-matter expert within the team and guide and mentor your team members.
Please note, you must have Graphics Rendering experience to be considered.
Minimum required skills:
* Strong C/C++ programming skills
* Understanding of data structures and algorithms
* Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to work independently
* Interest in computer graphics, machine learning or GPGPU
* Experience mentoring Junior Engineers
Skills and experience we would love to see:
* 3+ years experiences with OpenGL ES/Vulkan/DX11/DX12 Graphics APIs
* 5+ years on C/C++ programming
* Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
* Exposure to Embedded systems or Real-time operating systems
* Experience working with ARM architecture
* Familiarity with Git, Perforce or other SCM tools
* Comfortable working close to the hardware
Desirable:
* 5+ years of industry experience in GPU industries or related field such as game engine development
* Experience with Ray Tracing
* Experience with Device Driver Development
* Experience with Game Engine Development
* Knowledge on game engine such as Unreal Engine and/or Unity
* Familiar with real-time computing graphics technology
* Working experience on large scale system software
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
* Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
* PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
