Job Description: Sustainability Exec – Shell Aviation Ireland
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Executive to join our team and drive compliance with the obligations under the Refuel EU Aviation Regulation. Based at our office in Santry Dublin, and reporting to our Supply and Operations Manager, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in advancing sustainable aviation practices. It is ideally suited for a recent graduate with a background in engineering, business, or accounting, and a strong interest in sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
* Ensure the company meets all requirements under the Refuel EU Aviation Regulation, including blending sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) to mandated levels.
* Monitor regulatory updates and ensure alignment with changing obligations.
Documentation and Reporting
* Prepare and maintain accurate records of fuel sourcing, blending, and distribution to demonstrate compliance.
* Develop documentation and certification for airline customers to support their sustainability reporting and obligations.
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Liaise with suppliers, airlines, and regulatory bodies to ensure a seamless supply chain for sustainable aviation fuels.
* Work closely with internal teams, including operations, finance, and compliance, to integrate sustainability goals into daily operations.
Data Management and Analysis
* Analyse fuel usage and sustainability metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
* Generate regular compliance and sustainability performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Sustainability Advocacy
* Stay informed on advancements in sustainable aviation fuel technologies and industry best practices.
* Advocate for sustainability initiatives within the company and support efforts to minimize environmental impact.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, engineering, or a related field.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* A passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to the decarbonization of the aviation industry.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage complex documentation requirements.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with data analysis tools is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of sustainability regulations, particularly the Refuel EU Aviation Regulation.
* Internship or project experience in sustainability, aviation, or a related field.
* Familiarity with sustainable aviation fuels and renewable energy markets.
